Doug, Muriel and family so sorry to hear of Karen’s passing. Karen was so vibrant and loved by so many. Karen’s positive attitude and joy were contagious. I enjoyed our time at music in the park and coffee afterwards. My sincere sympathies to you all. Pat Drysdale

Memories of Karen: a beautiful young bride, joining herself to Doug and his wonderful family - she had a very close relationship with Alex, Jackie, David and Daryl, all of whom have supported them both through this long ordeal. A young mother giving birth to her first child, out of bed and smiling after just a few hours. Swimming effortlessly at the local “keep fit” weekly sessions while us “slightly older ladies” were gasping for breath. Walking around “the block” with her hair in place and high heeled sneakers (Karen loved her hair and her shoes, she always looked absolutely lovely). A sweet smile and lovely disposition, always. Then the test, and boy did she knock it out of the park! Strong, brave, resilient. Instead of focusing on what was happening to her body, her life, she became a help and support for others experiencing the same trauma. What a role model. We will all miss this gentle soul. Doug, you are to be commended for your loving care of Karen throughout this time, I know she is with you helping you through these days. Love came before grief and love will always remain with you. God bless and keep you both, Lou and Louise

I remember many years ago, camping with Karen & Doug. Karen would not come out of the tent until her hair and makeup was done... :)
Great memories, such a wonderful person. Will miss our chats on Facebook, since we reconnected after so many years.
R.I.P. Karen. My heart goes out to Doug and family ❤️
