VERNON F. CHRISTIAN
(Veteran WW II)
1921 - 2005, called home by his Lord on Friday, April 8, 2005. In Heaven, reunited with his beloved wife Ruth (1980), his parents Jack (1980) and Evelyn (1981), and his brother Al (1995). On earth leaving his adoring family: his daughter Vernona and her husband Floyd Beatty; his granddaughter Kelly Sweetman and her companion Terry Flieler who grew very close to Vern; and his "precious girls" great-granddaughters Lyndsay, Kaily and Lesley Sweetman all of Nestleton. Our Poppy leaves us with an irreplaceable loss; but the memory of his bright smile, wise words, gentle, and generous ways and his admirable courage will sustain us until we meet again. We salute the brave soldier who sacrificed 5 years of this life for his Country. The family of Vernon Christian will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905 985 2171) on Monday, April 11th from 10 �" 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend Gary Robinson officiating. Private interment Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Steven Russell for his compassionate care during Poppy's brief illness. We also thank the nurses and staff at the Port Perry Hospital for their kindness. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Community Memorial Hospital Foundation in Port Perry.
