Dear Harvey and Family: It's bittersweet to hear of Dorothy's passing. I'll miss her but I know she lived life well and feel grateful she left peacefully. In someways we live our lives like birds swooping, soaring and gliding just a breath of air separating us possibly only catching a glimpse of each other as we fly on following our own individual flight path. I was trying to think of some appropriate way to mark Dorothy's passage. As I did this,I recalled how Dorothy liked to swim-and swam often ...most days she'd do laps in Lake Nosbonsing even as she approached her 80th year often with a lone mallard that annual returned to the dock for company. Many of you of course shared her love for the water and joined her. She embraced life joyfully and with enthusiasm. I often drive passed the lake and think of her. A gentle heart-who lived life well and graciously-I'll miss her. I'd like to make a donation in her name to the Trumpeter Swan Recovery Program as the first pair noted in the area were on Lake Nosbonsing. This beautiful waterbird for me seems to symbolize Dorothy's life. My thoughts are with you, Judi Thorkelson North Bay, Ontario

Dear Harvey, Tom and Nancy. Yesterday as we gathered for worship, we lit a candle of remembrance for your beloved Dorothy. We remembered you in our prayers and many shared their fond memories of your years here in North Bay. Dorothy touched many people's life and she will be remembered for her great joy of living, her beautiful spirit of kindness, her love for her family and her deep faith in a loving God. It was a privilege to have known her as a sister in Christ. As you gather today to celebrate her life, please know that you are being held tenderly in our love and prayers and always in the immeasureable love of God. God bless you.
