My favorite memories of Grandma Nora are of her playing with my children. I was in school in Arizona. Nora and Gerv would drive down to Tucson to see Ute, Sarah and me. And, we would drive up to Queen Valley to see Nora and Gerv. It was so very nice to have family in the area. This was especially true, because Sarah was just one year old, and Ute was new to North America. Seeing Nora play with Sarah, and later with Ally and Kevin after they were born, brought back all kinds of great memories. Given how Bill, Al, Heather and all their kids and grandkids have florished, if a mother's success is measured by the happiness of their offspring, Nora simply has no peers.

Although we lived several hundred miles apart, I am thankful for the times I got to be near Grandma Huestis on a regular basis. First it was in Florida when I was quite young (from infancy to about 7 years old), and then later when they moved their winter HQs to Arizona, when I was in high school. I have fond memories of having dinner over at their place, where she would always make my favorite, her "Monkey Bread". Nora was always a very cheerful person, who never had a bad word for anyone. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren, and would spend hours talking to me about what the kids were up to back up North. Her love of golf was passed on to many in the family, and some of my earliest memories of playing or watching golf were with her. I can also still hear her playing her electric organ, where she was always playing a happy and upbeat tune. Finally, Grandma was a great listener, who was always fascinated by my various adventures and travels, and would sit and ask questions and listen with great interest to my tales of life in London or Singapore or Spain

A wonderful and caring person; a lady in every sense of the word. May your family forever feel the great joy you brought to their lives.
