Sarah and I wanted to let you know our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. We also wanted to say how terrific your mom and dad were and what a lasting impression they have left with us and everyone else on the lake. We'll always remember your parents as part of our special cottage life and we'll miss them tremendously. Hana is just starting to use the bench that John made for her and when she

I'm so sorry to hear of your sudden loss. As a long-time friend of their neice Susan Painter- Saltmarsh, we have met both John and Mary and their girls numerous times. We are blessed to have received one of John's wooden benches which Susan had given us as a gift for our daughter. It is nice to know good memories and gifts of John and Mary have touched others. Regards, Donna Stevens-Cook and Family

I remember you as little girls and I remember so well the love your parents had in their hearts for all of you. My Mom and Dad were great friends of your parents. We had a cottage on the lake and the weekend just wasn't complete until we saw Jonn and Mary come through the narrows, after all how could a weekend be complete with out your Dad singing and playing his guitar getting half way through the song and saying we didn't know the words to that one anyway My family and I have many good memory's with your family. They were great people and added a lot of joy in everyones life they touched . I remember If that old chicken don't lay. All the best to you I am thinking of you everyday. Love Sherrie and Al

I'll always remember sitting around the bon fire at the cottage, everyone laughing and singing. And John on his guitar would start "Mama Don't let your children grow up to be... firemen" much to my dad's delight. We'd sing long into the night about some stupid coyote or four strong winds. John was a wonderful person, and we will all miss him. My deepest condolences go out to Jennifer, Julie and Joanne as well as Jacey and Jaxon who will never get to hear their grandfather's songs and guitar.

Jennifer, Julie, Joanne, and family It is a sad time. I knew your parents for a short time. My Grandparents ( Joe and Margerat Grander ) knew your parents aswell. Your Father allways offered help to others. When Hydro was put in the lake, John offered his help and electrical supplies. Hope to see you at the lake in the future. A friend, Andre B.
