Marilyn Moore

Obituary of Marilyn Anne Moore

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Marilyn Anne Moore, who passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of 86.

Beloved wife of William Moore for 64 years. Loving mother of Karen Williamson (John), Sharon VanVeen (John), Sheila Moore (Gerald), and Bill Moore. Cherished Grandma to Kristina (Dave), Tonya (Eika), Shane (Kayley), Britney, Lynsey (Dillan), Colin, Lisa (Mitchell), Gerrit, Caleb (April), Jessalyn (Cam), and Aaron (Amanda) and great grandmother to Eli, Isla, and Layla. Survived by her brother Don and his wife Beverley.

Marilyn was born in Toronto and later moved to the Pickering area, where she met her life partner Bill, and they began their life together at Moorlands. They later moved to Ashburn, where they built their home and raised their four children.

She had a love for travel and many adventures, from boating to flying. Marilyn enjoyed many winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. Her happy place was the cottage on Horseshoe Lake, where family gatherings and sing songs were abundant. She loved watching the birds and wildlife that visited the Dagmar property and she had a passion for gardening. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, November 22nd from 1 – 2 p.m., with a short ceremony to follow. All are welcome to return to the family home afterward to celebrate her life.

We are very grateful for the support workers who helped Marilyn through her journey; your care and kindness were deeply appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marilyn’s honour can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
