Obituary of Tony Bloemen
Peacefully, at his home in Port Perry, surrounded by his family, beloved husband of Nera (nee Selten) for 63 wonderful years. Loving father of Tilly (Chris Durward), Astrid (Ray Cochrane), and John-Peter Bloemen (Naz). Loving Opa of Jeffrey, Corey (Sarah), Brittney (Matthew), Jade, Jasmine, Jewel, MacKenzie, Paige, and great Opa to Sienna, Peyton, Hayden, Wren, Hudson, and Emmersyn. Tony was the eldest of 8. He is survived by his 2 sisters and 5 in-laws back in Holland. After they were married in 1960 Tony and Nera came to Canada together, eventually settling in Port Perry. Throughout Tony’s working years, he managed and was the caretaker of Cartwright-Lands and Investments Ltd. (The Syndicate) for 35 years. Tony loved the outdoors, working in the forest, guiding in duck season, and loved driving around to visit with many friends and family. Tony battled COPD throughout his later years. We wanted to send out a special thank you to his family and medical staff for helping to care for him throughout his life and wishes everyone to take care of each other.
