Mike and I are so very sorry to hear of Al’s passing. He was a dear friend to our family and the very best friend to my dad, Pete Burns. I’m sure they are having a good time together in heaven. We went to visit Al a couple of months ago. He had his bottle of Irish Whiskey beside his kitchen table and he poured Mike a drink. He was always a gracious host and we shared many laughs over the years. I’m so glad I got to see him and give him a hug and tell him I loved him. Sincere condolences to Lora and his family. My husband and I live up the street from Al. I have never met a lovelier man in all my life. We were so fond of him, and I'll never forget getting his mail in my mailbox, delivering it, and being invited in to have a drink. Little did I know, Al was going to pour me straight whisky at 330 in the afternoon. Then topped up my glass too many times. We talked for hours, and when he tried to top me up again I said oh goodness, I only drink beer, I don't think I can handle anymore, Al looked at me and said oh you looked like a whisky girl, I had beer in the fridge. We always chatted with him when he was sitting under his car port in the nice weather. He gave my husband a tour of the yard, and all his cool toys. Today, we saw the 'coming soon' sign at his house and we both knew what had happened. Al was so special, and I know he touched every person he spoke to. He was so easy to speak to, and his colourful language always kept us on our toes. I know how much he loved his wife Lora, though we didn't ever get to meet her. Sending so much love to his friends and family. I know how much he touched our lives, and walking past his house will never be the same. Rest in peace my friend. Tonight I'll put on the CD you gave me, that you bought so many of because you felt so bad for the girl selling them. xoxo Candice & Chris

Sincere condolences to Lore, Violet, Deirdre, Eileen and the entire Quinn family circle. Al was a trusted, loyal friend to the Mc Ginn family from Highstreet Bessbrook.
