Obituary of Ilean Louise Pugh
Sunrise November 29, 1932 – Sunset March 2, 2023 -
The Mayor of Prince Albert has retired. -
It is with profound sadness, much love and final acceptance that we announce the passing of a devoted wife (predeceased by her husband Merv in 1999), a wonderful mom and a truly loving grandma (great and great-great). Left to miss her in their lives are her children Bonnie & Paul Solomon, Wayne & Dianne Pugh, Dennis & Laureen Pugh, and Ivan & Linda Pugh. Her eight grandchildren will miss her special lemon dessert made just for them at Christmas. Mom’s basement always held new found treasures for her eleven great grandchildren to play with while snacking on her peanut-butter cookies. Her joy was immeasurable when our family grew with two great-great grandchildren and one more on the way. Her steadfast faith and her fierce independence was what saw Mom through many challenges in life. She gave willingly of herself and required no fanfare for her talents and accolades. We called her our own “Energizer Bunny”. We are confident that she is organizing a euchre game while waiting to watch her beloved “Jays”.
The family of Ilean Pugh will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985‑2171) on Friday, March 24th from 2 ‑ 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, March 25th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Don Willmer officiating. Private interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham, Port Perry Hospital Foundation, North House or the Port Perry Hospital Auxiliary.
