I am so sorry to hear of this gentleman's passing. He was always kind to me and taught me about rocks! At Bancroft's Gemboree, he would tell me to go shopping, but not to buy. When I gave him my list of "purchases"....within a few days.... I had my rocks from his bits and pieces! He often shook his head at my curiosity of rocks but always took the time to share his knowledge. I thank him for the time he gave me. I have good memories of when he was in my life. Thank you for that, dear sir.

We were very sorry to hear about John’s passing. Our family always enjoyed seeing him every year in Bancroft. Our son’s favourite memory of the Gemboree was setting up in the trading area, always beside John. John gave him a few specimens over the years and Thomas keeps them on a shelf in his office. John will be missed. Our condolences to his family.

We pass along our heartfelt condolences to all of John's family on his passing on Easter Sunday and know this is a sad and painful time. John was a wonderful and gentle man, who shared his friendship and passion for mineral collecting with me over many years. We had many terrific mineral colleting adventures and great times being at rock and mineral shows. It is difficult to express how much he meant to me but please know that he is, and always will be missed greatly and remembered often. With our deepest sympathy, Bob (& Brenda) Beckett.

Saddened to hear about John's passing. I knew him as a fellow mineral collector. Often charming. Always thoughtful. Looked forward to meeting him during collecting trips and later at mineral shows. He will be missed. Liz Fodi
