Obituary of Patricia Ann Miller
July 22, 1947 – March 20, 2022
“Your wings were ready when God requested you home, but our hearts were not.”
Pain-free and at Peace, with family by blood and by choice, at her side, Patricia crossed over while staying at Port Perry’s own Oak Ridges Hospice.
Predeceased by her favourite Grandma, Annie Louisa, her loving parents, Margaret (nee Kemp) and Norman Boynton of Port Perry, her brother James, cousin Ted, and so many more who will be waiting patiently.
Eternally loved by her husband Alan of 14 years. Cherished mum to Toad (Nikki), Marilyn, stepsons Aaron and Christopher, Buttons her fur baby. Forever admired by her sister Norma Boynton, sisters-in-law Mary, Kath (Dave) and brother-in-law Robert (Estelle). Patricia will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patty loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who all live out West. Mum babysat a truckload of lucky kiddos through the years. They were each incredibly special to her in their own unique way. Honorary Nana to L who was a real gift from God. Mum treasured all her moments with each and everyone of you. She wants each and everyone of you to find that unconditional love you each gave her.
“Don’t settle in Life for anything less than what you each deserve, and you each deserve the world.”
Mum had a tremendously generous heart. She listened without judgement. She offered priceless pearls of wisdom. She left an impression on so many hearts. She enjoyed going to the Casino with her partner in crime and hanging out after at the Tim Hortons talking in her fake accent and meeting new people. Bingo was another place she enjoyed going with her long-time best bud. There was usually a good chance of running into someone she knew and catching up on old times. Playing cards until the wee hours of the morning was something she also enjoyed at their place, hers or even Tim Hortons. Mum always had an extra spot or two at the table for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas or just a night off, for anyone she met who was struggling in their own way or might have to spend the holiday alone. She knew how to make people laugh. She knew how to make people feel included and special.
I want to take this time to thank Dr. Chelsea Soares for being available and taking Mum on as her patient. You are knowledgeable beyond your years. You made starting this new chapter in Mum’s life much easier with your thoughtful and caring manner. Oak Ridges Hospice staff and volunteers, you guys rock! Thank you each and everyone of you for the support, the excellent care for Mum, and for all the little things that add up to incredibly special gestures.
