I love this photo of Janet. It captures the way I remember her—the deep kindness in her eyes. I have so many wonderful memories of her and all of you during my Bendale years.
I carry sadness for you as you process the journey you have all been on. She was a soldier and a saint.
Deepest condolences.
Love Nancy and Closten

John and family Thank you for the lovely photo presentation. I enjoyed seeing Janet in her family setting. I knew her as a teacher in Scarborough when we were together near the end of our careers. She was a faithful dedicated staff member, seeking the best for her students.
I do hope she was able to enjoy some precious retirement years; the photos show such family love and support. I hope this will continue as you travel the years ahead until you meet again.
Best wishes and keep spreading her love and joy.

With much love in memory of a very dear friend. Janet was a 'pillar' of faithfulness, a very special teacher, a really generous person and a gift as a friend. I will always remember Janet as I move along in the rest of my life. She was so kind and sweet. I don't think that I ever heard a nasty word out of her mouth when I taught with her. She could always be positive. What a treasure she was to all of us.

Deepest sympathy to all the family: John, children, grandchildren, Ethel, Don and all the people Janet touched in her life. She was a Sunday School teacher for my children at Bendale, a faithful servant and a wonderful woman role model. Thank you for sharing the beautiful picture tribute - a true demonstration of Janet’s love for life and family by her constant smile. Blessings to all. Pamela Chamberlain

Dear Gibson Family,
On behalf of the Samson family (and former fellow Purpledusk trail neighbours and Bendale Bible Chapel family), I wanted to express our sadness at learning of the loss of your dear wife, mother and grandmother. Our deepest condolences.
I have so many childhood memories of Mrs. Gibson, from Sunday school, to Plum puddings, to Jr. Church on Sunday nights, to Sundaes at McDonald’s (Janet was the first to take me for one), to socials at your home, to Carole singing, to Jeremy and I just coming over to take Heidi for walks (began my love of dogs). You were such kind neighbours to all us Samson kids. I know we all appreciated Janet & John’s many kindnesses to us, as did my parents.
I cannot imagine how difficult this time is for you all. Praying for you all, and that the Lord will draw near to each one of you. May you be wrapped in His embrace. What a great comfort we have, that one day there will be a great reunion.
And what a great Hope (that does not disappoint), we have in Jesus. Janet now hears, “Well done…”. Looking to that day, when He returns, or calls us into His presence, oh what a day that will be. May that be your comfort in days and weeks ahead.
In His Great Love,
Joanna Samson
On behalf of Ray & Wendy, Tim (Jackie) & Jeremy (Aisha).

John, Andrea and Bill, Steve and Ally, Martha and Dean and precious grandchildren:
There is no way at all to describe your moms impact on our lives as young people as we headed into 25 years of ministry at MYW.
Her care and love for us, came before any "traditions" on how things should go for a newly married couple setting in to the world of ministry. We will probably never know her impact, as part our advocacy and prayer team all those years, until we join her in glory. We are ever grateful that God brought Janet into our lives...and we were able to understand Jesus' servant heart through her. If our one family feels this, the legacy she has left is far reaching.
Prayers in your grief and love to you all,
Warren and Bev McLaren
2 Cor 5:1-5
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Dear John and family,
Its was a privilege to know Janet, first as the wife of my Grade 9 Science teacher, and later as a very active member of Bendale!
My last encounter with John and Janet was in Uxbridge a few years ago, and it was providing hospitality for Robin Mark, when he was performing and ministering in the area on cold winter weekend.
Ironically, I was looking for another obit at Wagg's, (Mrs. Brown) when I saw the picture and obit.
Remembering with THANKS.
Al Clarkson.

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Gibson. Her delicious foods, her compassionate listening ear, her example of a loving wife and friend. We shared much of my childhood life together over chunky soup and grilled cheese after church. It was always the best when the Gibsons babysat for weeks at a time when we were young and our parents went away. You will be missed here Janet, though I am delighted to think of the thrills of heaven you are now experiencing. Much love to the entire family as you grieve this profound loss.
