A tribute to a friend…..
Lois Sheila Haynes
July 11, 1962 - October 20, 2021
Lois was a good friend but a troubled one. Over the years we had many adventures together through travel, renovations, Halloween decorating, helping me sew things, gardening, her talents were endless. I learned so much from her. We had many good times together. However her life was not always a happy one.
She was a strong woman in so many ways but on the other hand there were strong insecurities. Those insecurities lead to a horrible addiction that caused her to push everyone who loved her away.
Over the years Lois lived with me and my family. She would get herself into trouble and I would open the door. The last time she lived with us she decided to make a new start in life in Peterborough. We found an old brick house for her to purchase and she and the dogs moved to Peterborough. I was so excited for her to make this new start. I would visit and help her renovate. She had big ideas and turned this old house into a beautiful home. She was so talented at taking something old and worn and giving it a new life. Her Peterborough garden was beautiful as all her gardens were wherever she lived.
I was so happy for her making this new start. But her insecurities and addiction kept rising up. She couldn’t beat them back. She pushed anyone who cared or tried to help away. In 2011, I finally gave up trying. I cut her out of my life.
Lois was loved by many over the years. She just forgot to love herself. Lois, I am sorry I failed to help you see what a fabulous person you were. You will always have a special place in my heart.
Love you forever
