Obituary of Johannes Van Niekerk

JOHANNES "PETE" VAN NIEKERK Suddenly, on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Strathaven Lifecare Centre in Bowmanville, at age 87. Pete Van Niekerk formerly of Stayner, beloved husband of the late Maria (nee Van Mil). Loved father of Marion (Hans Dickhoff), John (Yvonne), Peter, Gary (Carol), Andy (Lori), and Ron (Colleen). Pete will also be sadly missed by his 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family of Pete Van Niekerk will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Thursday, May 11th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Friday, May 12th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Peter Lackmanec officiating. Interment St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Stayner at 3:30 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.
