EDGAR PHILP EMERSON
(Veteran WW II RCAF - DFC, Retired Professor University of Toronto. In his senior years, he was a farmer, jewellery maker, potter, blacksmith and extraordinary husband and father.)
Peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, in his 90th year. Edgar Emerson of Nestleton, dearly loved husband of Anne (nee Griffith). Loved father of Ian and his wife Maura of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Chris of View Lake, Greg and his wife Heather of Mississauga, and Doug and his wife Tracey of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Brick, Jordan, Summer, Erika, Geoff, Brad, Kyle and Alex. Edgar is survived by his brother Frank Emerson of Peterborough and his sisters Gladys Stutt of Bowmanville and Irene Witherly of Oshawa and he was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Ralph and his sister Ellen. The Family of Edgar Emerson will receive family and friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, February 14th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, February 15th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Karen Bursey officiating. Interment Nestleton United Church Cemetery in the Spring.
