Personalizing A Funeral With Unique Song Selections

People have started to move away from very formal and structured funeral services. They want something comfortable and intimate as that can help with the grieving process. Music is a wonderful and convenient way to add a personal touch to the funeral service. It doesn’t cost you any extra money but it can transform the entire vibe of the funeral service. However, you need to choose the right song to get the best results. Here are some ways to choose the best song:

1. The decedent’s favorite band or musician

Playing the deceased individual’s favorite type of music is a great way to add a personal touch to the funeral service. Compile a list of songs, albums, and artists that the decedent loved and played often. That will give you a good selection of music to choose from.

2. Choose a song that brings back good memories

Choose a song that brings back memories of the decedent. For example, you can choose music they regularly hummed, their wedding song, or one of the songs they saw or performed live. This will also help set the right tone and vibe during the funeral, and encourage people to share their experiences with other grieving individuals in the funeral service.

3. Make sure the song conveys the right message

Study the lyrics and listen to the song a few times to determine if the song is appropriate for the funeral. You don’t need to choose a sad or slow song, but don’t choose anything with offensive lyrics or a party-like beat. That might upset attendees and cause more grief to loved ones left behind.
